Receiving Detector Development Kit from VIGO Photonics

As part of the ongoing implementation of the SWIRLS (Sensitive Wideband Infrared Laser Spectroscopy) project, our team has received the specialized detector development kit provided by project partner VIGO Photonics S.A.

The SWIRLS initiative aims to develop optical instrumentation for rapid, broadband, high-resolution laser spectroscopy across the mid-infrared spectral range. In this framework, state-of-the-art infrared photodetectors and microwave-modulated quantum cascade lasers are combined to detect trace gases and environmental pollutants with high sensitivity.

The delivery of this evaluation and development kit represents an operational step forward for our experimental setup at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. It enables our researchers to begin direct testing, calibration, and integration of the detector modules into the optical bench, bringing the SWIRLS spectroscopic system closer to target performance benchmarks.

We look forward to sharing preliminary laboratory measurements as testing progresses.
